Assalamualaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Rochdale Dawah Centre Presents:

Invites you to:

RDC 1st Khutbah Training Seminar

(free entrance with food and notes provided. Limited spaces and booking required)

Delivered by Brother Masood Chowdhury

The Friday Prayer is one of the most important gatherings for Muslims. It is an excellent place for Muslims to be inspired to take their religion more seriously and strive more for the sake of Allah (swt). In non-Muslim countries, the Friday Prayer may be one of the few opportunities for Muslims to be reminded of their religion.

This course will help to promote effective skills in the delivery of Friday sermons. This will also ultimately increase the number of capable khateebs in Rochdale and surrounding areas. It is meant to help people deliver khutbahs in a knowledgeable and effective way. Current demographic, political and social trends predict a significant increase in demand for English khutbahs in the near future. Watch this space!

The seminar will combine theory and the opportunity to practise and hone skills.

Date: Saturday 9th January 2010

Location: 7 Oldham Road, Rochdale, OL16 1UA

The Prophet salallahu alahi wassalam said, “The best amongst you is the best towrds his family. As for me, I am the best amongst you towards my family.” Ibn Majah.

Consider this,

Ahmed and Fatima have been married for 5 years and have 3 children. Ahmed wonders why he married Fatima in the first place. He says to you, ‘The only reason I stay with her is because of the kids. I cannot bear to lose them.’ But Ahmed is at work for 12 hours a day for 6 days a week and the kids barely know him.

Fatima complains to you saying,’I hardly see my husband, he is never at home’ She is insecure about her relationship with Ahmed and the also the future of their children. She says,’I don’t think Ahmed loves me anymore.’

Does This Sound Familiar To You?

You are invited on a journey to build bridges from the past, to a hopeful present and blissful future. In this course you will learn the ingredients to a happy family including:

And how being good to your parents is the key to your children being good to you

Timings

Don’t be afraid of the hours. AlKauthar Institute seminars are not long lectures upon lectures hours on end. There will be many different and new ways we are imparting knowledge to ensure we make it interactive, interesting, exciting and thought provoking.

Times include a 2 hour break in the early afternoon

There will be plenty of refresher breaks in between hours to ensure student attention is maximised

We only have limited seats at each seminar. So to ensure you don’t miss out we encourage you to enrol as soon as possible to confirm your seat.

Venue:

Salford Law School, Lady Hale Building, University of Salford, Salford, M5 4WT

Why Enrol?

Knowledge is power. It increases when you give it. It is needed by Kings and beggars alike. It eases the path to paradise. We are constantly reminded in the Qur’an and Sunnah of the importance of gaining Islamic knowledge so as to apply it in our lives. At AlKauthar Institute we have attempted to make this path as easy as possible for a Muslim, but in the end it will require your own individual commitment, dedication and hardwork to gain the pleasure of Allah.

Remember:

The benefits you receive for the fee you pay for these courses will far out weigh the benefits you will receive from the payment of any other course such as university fees, professional membership fees, conference fees amongst many others.

Practicality is always emphasised. You will learn so much in such little time and in such a manner that will ensure that you will be able to impart that knowledge straight away.
Islamic Institute for Development & Research [IIDR] in association with De Monfort University Isoc, Leicester University Isoc and Fosis [Midlands] presents…

FIQH OF MENSTRUATION

The topic of Menstruation has long been a taboo, in parts of the Muslim world even to this day; in the midst of the western society, Muslim Women are unsure about performing their duties while bleeding.

This course will endeavour to facilitate an understanding of the legal Islamic rulings to menstruation as they pertain to many aspects of your daily lives. The objective of this course is to give you the ability to recognise the issues and to deal with them. This course will help you answer a wide variety of common questions, such as;

•	Can I touch the Qur’an during menstruation?
•	Can I enter the Mosque?
• I want to perform the Hajj; I’ll use Pills to delay my cycle as it’s my only opportunity to go. I really can’t take the risk of bleeding during Hajj. Is this a right choice?
•	I’ve missed 2 months of fasting due to post natal bleeding. What do I do?
•	I’ve just had a coil placed inside, and it has changed my regular cycle of 7 days to 13 days. Is this my new cycle?
•	I am bleeding but, it’s not red. Can I consider it as menstruation?

Additionally, a special seminar by a female Muslim Gynaecologist about the Anatomy and Physiology of the female reproductive organ.

This is your opportunity to overcome your shyness and barriers; to clear your mind and learn in a female only environment.

MOSQUE members were so sick of the rubbish near their building, they decided to carry out their own clean-up.

The residents spent a day picking up junk around Eccles recreation ground to show the rest of the community how big a problem litter is and to encourage them to start throwing rubbish away properly.

Their actions were sparked by figures released by the UK’s biggest anti-litter campaign, Keep Britain Tidy, revealing that council taxpayers in the UK fork out £500m a year to clean the streets and that thanks to the growing presence of dropped food, the UK rat population now stands at approximately 60 million.

Asia Ishaque, from Eccles Mosque, said: “This clean up will show others that we care about the future of our local environment and that we are not prepared to live, work and play in an area that is blighted by rubbish.

“What is good about working together like this, is it creates a sense of community and for some of our younger volunteers it is their first taste of active citizenship.”
